Neon Blonde 2

Friday, September 23rd, 2005

I love how yesterday on The Today Show, Kathleen Flynn-Hui was talking about her first book, Beyond the Blonde and how back before she was an author – when she was a colorist – she had a client that dyed her own hair to match her dog’s.

I think if you google this concept, you’ll find a story that tells you exactly who this designer is. Yes, it’s a designer – one who’s not from New York and enjoys being a girl, if that makes it easier…

Marc by Marc’s last season sneaker…

Converse’s this season sneaker!

also, I love this Marc by Marc story:

Last week, Jordan and I were walking to the Empire State Building. I was wearing Marc by Marc’s pink-and-white floral dress. Yes, the one Bee Shaffer wore to the US Open. It’s pretty.

Anyway, we were walking and one of Marc’s employees stops us, kisses Jordan, then says to me, “you look so cute – where’d you get your dress?”

I was like, “um, from you?”

Then he told me a secret: most people at Marc don’t really know the secondary line’s pieces. They’re constantly stopping girls on the street and asking about their great outfits, only to find out – of course – they’re from Little Marc.

Confusing, no?

I’ve taken to the ancient art of writing, albeit 21st century, as I have not spoken to you in a while.

Loved the fashion show coverage and pictures are great, keep taking them of everyone and everywhere. You remember Billy Name…

Kissed by Janice Dickinson. COOOL>>>>

But I wish you’d be nicer to [a certain girl]; she is not the other woman and she could end up being your friend.

Remember, Janice Dickinson is nice to everyone.

Love,

Your Dad.

ps – saw that photo of you at MisShapes. your mother and I think you’d look better as a real blonde.

as opposed to the fake blonde I am now…

How did Aimee Phillips and Mackey Dugan get jury duty on the exact same day? And did they somehow sneak pink champagne into the courtroom?

Whatever, you already know the answer to that one…

Shop ‘Til You Bop

Wednesday, September 21st, 2005

I love how all these downtown stores are hiring DJs to play while people shop. Mexx had Jordan Silver spinning last week (and again soon!), and tonight Leigh Lezark will shake the speakers at Ted Baker… right before Adrian Grenier and the Honey Brothers perform at the new boutique’s after party.

The funny thing is, I remember way back when Jeffrey’s first opened in the Meatpacking District, and their first DJ let me climb behind his decks and play Drive My Car, just because I was all perky and fresh faced and 10th grade.

I don’t think Jordan would ever let me do that now…

Intermix opens their Soho boutique next week with a fab little party.

Can you find the fete’s hostess in this photo?

Ten points if you can guess her.

Twenty if you can guess which other rock royalty are headlining the event.

And yes, that was a giant hint.

Ashlee and Nicky, both back to blonde and thank goodness. Now Lindsay just needs to revert to red and the universe is once again in harmony.

Speaking of Nicky, you can see pretty pics of her on The Cobra Snake right now, along with another pretty pic – of me! – and several photos of a fashion week fixture who looks like she just had a nose job. True, or had I just never noticed this girl could be beautiful?

Click on the Cobra Snake link and start hunting… you’ve got a lot of guessing to do…
