Last night on an imaginary estate, I watched Cosby reruns, my absolute favorite. And Cliff said to Sandra:
“I saw Black Orpheus once and there was a woman in it - woohoo. And I wanted to go to Rio just to find that woman!”
“That woman” is Marpessa Dawn, the godmother of designer Laura Poretzsky. Laura’s last Abaete collection was inspired by the Black Orpheus star.
More Cosby fashion trivia: actual socialite (and incredibly cool woman) Susan Fales-Hill wrote for the show right out of college, and also produced a few episodes of A Different World.
