Real or Fake

Dana’s Balenciaga Motorcycle Bag.

So wait.

If a motorcycle bag gets brought to the West Village on an actual motorcycle, does that verify its authenticity? Or will it just smell more like gasoline?

Mmm, gasoline…

  1. copy this - raise middle finger says:

    who cares?
    that bag is so done…..
fakes are just as tragic as buying a bag so obvious that someone has even bothered to replicate it ….

    I am disgusted by proxy

  2. wow

I don’t own this bag, and would like to, but perhaps you want to reccomend something else that meets your approval?

send me a photo of your bag and I’ll definitely post it.

    xoxo IS

  3. I accept the service charge! says:

oops didn’t mean to be a hater – LOVE TO LOVE you baby

I love balenciaga but not the bags, the last thing I bought from the house was the handpainted scuba top with the jaguar (full price bien sur only to see it flood the secondary market months later – au secours!)…

Hmmn – the last bag I fell for was the red crocodile Marc Jacobs Venetia, a few seasons ago, I think he only made a couple and they were snapped up by the real deal before mere mortals (wannabees?) like myself could mull over the sticker price and do the requisite fashion v. subsistence math. That and a checkerboard carry case from a recent LV man’s ‘college’ catwalk collection that never made it to production….sob.

I guess shoes are my weapon of choice, and opinions but no substance in the bag arena.
    So someone just got served!

Promise to lurk in the shadows from now on….
But believe me when I say I always held you in higher estemm than the White Balenciaga moto…..sounds backhanded? Unfortunately the sincerest compliments often are…

    x

  4. um, I think someone is gunning for her very own blog.

in the meantime, a venetia bag, a motorcycle bag, I see little difference in terms of desire, but maybe that’s why I’m the imaginary one.

  5. Bloggamortis says:

nah – I could never handle the unsolicited opinions from all the jerks comme moi….

  6. ms. george says:

It’s fake. There is no slouch to it and (this sounds stupid) but it seems too white.

I own 2 real ones (white and orange- metallic) that I both got on discount…but alas, sometimes I am the fashion passe.

  7. Shelley says:

Hey, I like to guess if is real or fake! Bad thing I never know if I’m right or wrong. Anyway, this one looks real to me, not because of the smell…

  8. just sayin' says:

    c’est le fake!!!

  9. KO says:

So it’s the slouch that counts? Makes me feel better about my brown Aldo version…’course, it has little tassled zippers in the bottom corners instead of buckles, but I suppose us non-wealthy/non-fashion types have to deal with such details.

  10. vivienne says:

Yah it’s fake. The leather’s all wrong and it doesn’t even look soft. There are whites that are TRUE whites but this one’s wrong because it looks cheap.

  11. Anna says:

OK…To the girl who said that this bag is so over…not to argue with you but, I just read in vogue that this has been the longest going trend and most popular bag for the past 3 years!! Don’t be offended, You Just gotta read the right magazines, babe!! And what is the definition of so over mean to you? It all depends on how you rock it. If you try to sport it with too many trends you’ll end up looking like a goofball. If you wear the right outfit, this bag turns into “CLASSIC”. Again, read more before you come out with a statement like that.

  12. If it’s fake it won’t last long during harsh weather conditions as a bicycle bag. Just a thought.
