I don’t think there was ever any contempt, I think it was more of a bemused / fascinated / um okay kind of feeling. But I have to say, she was really smart and that’s important to me. She also looked everyone in the eye when she talked to them and she made stupid faces at her friends. Also, this might sound weird, but she really looked like a filmstrip come to life. Like every few seconds you could pause her. Seriously, I really liked her – but yes, she is still a fauxnie.
the fact that you deem the intelligence of that unsuccessful abortion above average isn’t saying much, is it? “Really smart†sixteen-year-olds don’t sacrifice their dignity to appear half naked on overexposed party photo websites; they don’t spread their drug-atrophied legs for community-college dropouts (seriously, how does that even happen? isn’t community college enough of a cop-out?); they don’t have time to perfect their muppet-worthy googly-eyes look for nylon shoots, they don’t skip school to fly around the country getting drunk, they don’t squander their energy on the pursuit of vanity and their trust funds on the avoidance of sobriety–and, most tellingly, they don’t need you to defend them.
cory kennedy has won my heart. nice to see her getting love on here as well – and i agree, she’s very smart AND nice.

In pictures I have seen of her, she reminds me of Penny Lane on Almost Famous….but with dark hair of course.
