Blue Tuesday: Coated

Abby: … I know, I was looking forever for a purple coat.

Matt: It’s a blue coat.

Abby: It is so purple! It is a purple Marni coat, she didn’t even do blue in her color palette that season.

Matt: Maybe she just did it on your one coat. Maybe it’s custom made, just for you.

Imaginary Socialite: Ooh, like Carine’s Alaia jacket during Fashion Week!

Abby: No. It’s purple. Back me up here, it’s purple.

Imaginary Socialite: I mean, I really think it’s blue, but we can blog it…?

Carines Alaia coat wasn’t custom! I saw it for sale at Le Bon Marche a few weeks ago! And WOW, it is even more amazing close up….

When I was approximately 8-10 years old, I read in an Owl Magazine Factbook for Kids that said that there was no such thing as a naturally blue plant. and that even blueberries were purple if you really looked at the colour. So, this blue/purple debate you have here, kinda maybe is about the colour of blueberries.

Maybe because we call ‘em BLUEberries, then people subconsciously identify that colour as blue, even when it is on coats, not berries. Maybe you should poll some people who speak languages that don’t call these berries “blue” or any other colour. Sigh. Maybe it is too late and I should do my homework so I can go to bed.
