I have godawful circulation and layer a chunky short leather glove like those over a thinner knit longer glove whenever the temperature is in the 30's. Friday was my first day without any gloves. Others may think its old fashioned but I think it prevents me from catching colds. Absolutely, they work. With a 3/4 sleeve and (covered) slim forearm peeking out in between.
